CHARITY MATCH:
Dulee and co. raise $82,000 for charity

Liberian international Dulee Johnson and his AIK team mates helped raise $82,000 in a charity game against Singapore Armed Forces FC in aid of a footballing hero Dollah Kassim.
The 60-year-old Singaporean football legend has been in a coma after suffering a heart attack last October while playing for Singapore Veterans in the Sultan of Selangor Cup.
More than 2,300 fans made their way to the Choa Chu Kang stadium to watch the 2010 S-League Charity Shield between Singapore Armed Forces FC and Swedish champions AIK Solna that ended one apiece.
A cheque of $82,000 was presented to Dollah's son Ezaad Abdullah by FAS president Zainudin Nordin and the Swedish ambassador to Singapore, Par Ahlberger.
Johnson was happy he was part of this charity initiative to save the life of a fellow human.
“This is what football is all about. You play to make people happy and to save lives such us this. I’m happy we made it and I wish the Singaporean footballer well. I’m deeply touched and we are grateful for the warm reception too,” Johnson said.
“We would like to express our deepest and heartfelt thanks to everyone involved in today's game.
“From the organisers to the fans, we would like to thank them for honouring my father and helping to raise money that will be used to care for him at home,” Ezaad, the son of Dollah said.
Johnson’s club AIK was in Singapore for a 10-day pre-season training and returned early this week.
